Annual General Meeting and New Director

VANCOUVER, BC -- Victor J.E. Jones, Chairman and CFO of Great Quest Metals Ltd. (TSXV: GQ; Frankfurt: GQM), reports that management has recommended the election of seven directors at the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in Toronto on June 10, 2011. In its Information Circular to shareholders Mr. Gordon Peeling has been nominated, along with the current six directors of the Company, for election at the meeting. The Board of Directors is very pleased to welcome Mr. Peeling as a nominee following his successful thirteen year term as President of the Mining Association of Canada.

Mr. Peeling has been president of MAC since 1997 and has more than 30 years of mining experience in both the public and private sectors. In the MAC news release announcing his retirement on April 30, it noted the he was named one of Canada's top 100 lobbyists and that under Mr. Peeling's leadership, MAC had achieved considerable milestones. These include progress on matters related to sustainability, the environment, and First Nations, as MAC signed an accord with First Nations in 2009. He has also taken an active role in initiatives related to Corporate Social Responsibility, an increasing priority for industry in Canada and for African nations inviting international mining investment. The Mining Association of Canada is the national organization for the Canadian mining industry and its members are engaged in mineral exploration, mining, smelting, refining and semi-fabrication (www.mining.ca).

Prior to joining MAC, Mr. Peeling served as Vice President at the International Council on Metals and the Environment; Director General Mineral Commodities Branch at Natural Resources Canada; and the Director General, Mineral Strategy Branch at Natural Resources Canada. Under his leadership, the Mining Association was recognized for its leadership in work on sustainable development and the innovative development of a widely recognized leading edge sustainable development program called Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM).

The election of Mr. Peeling to the Board will add a further valuable dimension and international perspective to the Board of Directors as the Company expands its exploration activities in Mali.
