High-Grade Intercept in Drill Hole KN 11-0 5 Appears to be Pipe-Like in Configuration Rather than Tabular

VANCOUVER, BC - Willis W. Osborne, President of Great Quest Metals Ltd. (TSX Venture Exchange: GQ),is pleased to announce the results of the final two holes of the 2005 drill program on the Djambaye 2 gold zone within the Kenieba concession in Mali, West Africa, where a total of 1,233.50 m was drilled in 12 holes. The objective of these two holes was to determine the nature of the high grade intercept, 1.05 m of 808.85 g/t gold in quartz breccia, in drill hole KN 11-05.

The drill holes were spotted to test for tabular zones of quartz breccia. Both holes were located at the same site as KN 11-05. The first hole, KN 13-05, was drilled to the north to test for possible extensions of the breccia zone to the east. The second hole, KN 14-05, was drilled west northwest to test for extensions to the south along the main zone. Neither hole intersected the breccia zone, but KN 14-05 intersected the main zone:

                    (metres) (metres) (grams per tonne)
---------------------------------------------------------
KN 14-05 32.50 - 37.20 4.70 1.90
Including 33.55 - 34.50 1.00 5.85
KN 14-05 60.90 - 63.75 2.85 2.19
Including 62.90 - 63.75 0.85 5.59

Hole KN 11-05 was drilled under an old trench that was dug to an estimated depth of 20 m. It is now inaccessible. The orpailleurs or hand miners report that they worked a very high grade zone in the overlying trench similar to that intersected in KN 11-05. The high grade intercept in hole KN 11-05 was intersected at a depth of 28 m. It is thought that the zone of mineralization in the trench and that in KN 11-05 are part of the same zone and that this zone of mineralization is a pipe like breccia zone at the site of the intersection of two faults.

The rainy season is currently in progress, but the Company plans a major drill program this autumn to continue to expand the Djambaye 2 gold zone to depth and along strike. So far this zone has been drilled over a length of 400 m within the total 2,300 m length where gold mineralization has been traced and to a maximum depth of 75 m. The Company also plans to test some, if not all, of the Djambaye 1, Kabaya 1 and Kabaya 2 gold zones on the Kenieba concession as well as the Baroya Nord and Segala Extension gold zones on the Baroya concession.

The drill core samples were submitted to Abilab Afrique d'l'Ouest SARL (Abilab) which is located in Bamako, Mali. Most of the samples were assayed by means of fire assay with atomic absorption finish. Where visible gold was seen, the assays were completed through pulp metallic sieve analysis which is a more thorough method that helps to reduce the problems associated with the nugget effect of coarse gold. Marvin Mitchell, P.Eng, the Qualified Person pursuant to NI 43-101 on the project, has approved of the contents of this news release.
