The next programs for the Kenieba concession include a RAB drill program followed by diamond drilling. RAB drilling tests the upper saprolite layer of the area. Saprolite is clay derived from rock through a process of weathering. In western Mali much of the original gold and quartz remains within the saprolite zone. This layer ranges from 2 to 50 metres thick in the Kenieba concession. The next drill program will test an area west of the northern part of the Djambaye 2 and an area along the Djambaye 2 south of the limit of previous diamond drilling. One of the most intriguing areas to be tested is a large area of orpaillage, or hand dug pits, along the southern part of both the Djambaye 1 and 2 zones.
The RAB drill program will be followed by a diamond drill program. The main focus of this program will be to continue to delineate the mineral resource along the Djambaye 2 gold zone. Drilling also will continue along the Djambaye 1 and in areas identified by the RAB drill program.
