Great Quest currently holds the Sanoukou and Bourdala gold projects, covering 254 sq km in the
western Mali gold belt, and the Tina Hina and Tarkint Est phosphate concessions, covering 737 sq km
in eastern Mali,. In early 2010, Great Quest completed the sale of its 3-concession Kenieba project to Avion Gold Corporation for cash and shares totalling $4.35 million. In keeping with its strategy to advance its Malian projects the Company entered into an option agreement on its British Columbian, copper-gold-molybdenum, Taseko project in August, 2010 with a recently formed British Columbian company. Great Quest will now focus on the exploration and development of its gold projects in western Mali and its phosphate projects in eastern Mali.
When Great Quest began work in Mali in 1998, gold was its main focus, and Mali is one of the most prospective countries for the discovery of gold. The Company was successful in the area with the sale of its Kenieba project and will continue its exploration for gold in Mali on the Sanoukou and Bourdala projects. The Sanoukou concession is drill-ready.
Since 2009, Great Quest has made significant progress in the acquisition of phosphate concessions in an area underlain by an extensive bed of phosphate rock. Once the permits for its two concessions have been granted, the Company will embark on a comprehensive series of programs that will advance the project from the exploration stage through development and into production. To facilitate these steps, the Company has established a Phosphate Advisory Committee.
