GREAT QUEST (TSX-V-GQ-$0.75) - Over the past couple of years, this company has reported oodles of very good but erratic drill results from its Kenieba concession in Mali. Several gold-bearing structures have been identified on the Kenieba, but the one on which most work has been carried out to date is the DJAMBAYE 2 GOLD ZONE which extends at least 2,342 metres north and south. With many high-grade intersections interspersed with lower grade assays, it isn't easy to picture the quantity of gold that exists on this one of several surface gold bearing structures identified so far. However, we should start to have at least some sense of an answer to that question this fall when the first gold resource is calculated from a 1,100 metre stretch on the Djambaye 2.

What ever the number is, it should be just the start of a gold-bearing resource on the Kenieba property for several reasons. First, the gold bearing structure extends for at least 2,342 metres north and south of the sample area. Second, the deepest drill hole went down to only 100 metres where it remained in gold mineralization. (There is reason geologically to think this deposit could very well extend to several hundred metres in depth, but that remains a speculation until further drilling takes place.) Third, the Djambaye 2 is just one of several gold-bearing surface structures on the Kenieba property, so the chances of coming up with a viable gold deposit on the Kenieba that could either be put into production on this property or perhaps custom milled or joint ventured with Nevsun's nearby Tabakoto mine would seem to be a possibility.

Moreover, Great Quest has three other highly prospective gold properties in Mali, not far from the Kenieba. And investors have all but forgotten the fact that the company has a copper-gold property in BC containing over 250,000 ounces of gold that also has considerable exploration potential.

EDITOR'S COMMENT: What I am trying to say is that when/if the market starts to get a sense that Great Quest has a gold mine in the making, this stock, which has a miniscule market cap of under $15 million, could rise very dramatically. With the first resource calculation supposedly heading our way before the end of the year and if we are right in believing gold is heading higher this fall, these shares could take off sooner rather than later.
