The Djambaye 1 gold zone, 285 to 460 metres east of the Djambaye 2 gold zone, is similar in geology and has the potential to add to the mineral resource on the Djambaye 2. The geology of the Djambaye 1, similar to that on the Djambaye 2, consists of gold in quartz veins within albitite dykes intruded into Birimian metasediments. So far the zone has been traced on the surface for 3,477 metres. Initial drilling, to date, consists of a 484 metre length of the zone. Below are the eight holes which have intersected the zone:

The important fact to note here is that only 484 metres of the known 3,477 metre strike length of the Djambaye 1 zone has been drilled. Intersections along the section drilled, range from 18.3 metres of 0.29 g/t gold in Hole 77-07 to 8.02 g/t gold over 7.9 metres in Hole 37-06. Although some intersections are relatively low grade, they have good width. The mineralization at this initial stage seems quite variable. KN 38-06, for example, was drilled under KN 37-06. KN 77-07 was drilled under an area of orpaillage where assays on two surface samples gave 2.78 and 41.51 g/t gold. The next stage of drilling will consist of testing the wide, lower-grade intersections to depth to see if there is an increase in grade and to start drilling further along strike.
