Great Quest Announces Results of the 2008 Drill Program on the Taseko Property

VANCOUVER, BC -- Willis W. Osborne, President of Great Quest Metals Ltd. (TSXV: GQ; Frankfurt: GQM), is pleased to announce that the results from the 2008, 10 hole, 1,567 metre drill program conducted on the Company's copper-gold-molybdenum property, 225 kilometres north of Vancouver, BC. Below are the results of drilling, which took place east of the copper-gold Empress deposit:

Drill Hole 08-67 was drilled 60 metres (m) east of Drill Hole 90-29, a 1990 hole, which intersected 5.49 m of 0.88% copper and 0.037 opt gold in the Upper North Zone and 38.10 m of 0.58% copper and 0.019 opt gold in the Lower North zone. Drill Hole 08-68 was drilled 60 m east of 08-67 and Drill Hole 08-71 was drilled 60m east of 08-68. Drill Hole 08-72 was drilled 60 m north and 30 m east of 08-68. All of these holes were drilled vertically.

All 4 holes drilled east of the Empress deposit intersected mineralization in the Lower North zone. The Upper North zone was not intersected in Drill Hole 08-67 and 08-68 but was picked up in Drill Holes 08-71 and 08-72. Both the Upper and Lower North zones remain open to the east.

Unlike the main part of the Empress zone to the west, the area drilled in 2008 has an inordinate number of dykes. The four holes had 10 intersections of dykes ranging from 5.17 to 47.60 m with most of the dykes in or adjacent to mineralization. Drilling on the molybdenum Granite Creek zone indicates that it strikes northeast.

In 1991, a pre-feasibility study on the Empress deposit by James Askew and Associates, Inc. of Denver estimated in situ resources of 11,078,000 tons of 0.61% copper and 0.023 ounces per ton gold. As that study predates NI 43-101, it must be declared that the potential quantity and grade is conceptual in nature; there has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource; and it is uncertain that further exploration will result in the target being delineated as a mineral resource.

Now that the drill program has been completed, the Company plans to compile all of the data over the Empress deposit and upgrade the mineral resource to NI 43-101 compliant. During the next program, the Company plans to continue expanding the Empress mineral resource to the east, test the Granite Creek zone to the northeast and drill the copper- molybdenum -gold Buzzer West area.

The 2008 analyses were carried out by ALS Chemex in North Vancouver, BC and included 35 Element Aqua Regia ICP-AE's as well as Gold, 30 grams, FA-AA finish. Vangeochem Lab of Vancouver, BC completed the analysis of the samples in 1990 which consisted of FA-AA for gold and ICP for the other elements. The Vangeochem assays were check assayed by ACME Analytical Laboratories of Vancouver, BC.

A comprehensive quality assurance/quality control program was implemented during the 2008 field program which included the insertion into the sample stream of field duplicate samples, field blanks and a gold-copper-molybdenum standard obtained from CDN Resource laboratories Ltd. This was in addition to the laboratory's own quality assurance program. Analytical results reported on the laboratory certificates were in parts per million (ppm) and were converted to percent (%) for copper and grams per tonne (g/t) for gold in this news release. Individual copper values exceeding 1% ppm were re-assayed using higher detection limits when calculating the intervals quoted.

In other news, Great Quest Metals Ltd. is currently in discussions on the possibility of the acquisition of a phosphate project.
